back to SHOW DIARIES

Now that was a hell of a show.

Most of us actually managed to arrive at the venue more-or-less on time - No small feat
on a weekday - and got in a decent soundcheck. Ah, the joys of headlining. Which
we didn't actually do. More on that later...

So after a bit of the usual waiting around, three of us and our roadie-for-the-evening Rob,
headed out to Smokeless Joe's for some malty goodness. I had an excellent Maredsous 8,
and, given the chance, I'd certainly have another.

"But what of the performance itself?" I hear you ask.

Well if you had shown up, you wouldn't have to ask, would you? Hmm? You would have known
that it was awesome.

You would have known that bass bins were stood upon, Devil-Fingers were raised, heads were
thrashed about, strings were broken, (including a .70 guage Low B!), a strap came unstrapped
(without any notes being missed, I might add), and there was also a certain amount of Gowan.

Take THAT!

And as if all that weren't enough... there was ska.

Yes, ska. But not from us. You see, A fourth band was added at the last minute. They were
called "The Agency" and they were some sort of bizarre ska/metal hybrid unlike anything I've
ever heard before. And they rocked.

So there.
