The Bovine Sex Club - Toronto
We'd been planning an Industrial Metal Night for a while, and finally found a place to host it:
Toronto's illustrious and infamous Bovine Sex Club.
Any club that stays in business for 15 years and doesn't even have a sign out front has gotta
have something going for it, right? Right. It's a cool place, with friendly staff. And Bill, the
sound guy, was really good and very patient with the technical difficulties we found ourselves
in the midst of during setup.
Anyway, we started the night out right with some Amphibious Assault,
who just get better every time I see them. How does a girl that tiny produce a voice that huge?
I don't know but Fallon, whatever you're doing, keep doing it. It's working.
Then later we ended the night with Sangsara, who I sadly missed due to gear-hauling
responsibilities. Sorry, guys. You know how it is.
In between, however, was what I consider to be the important part of the night: Us! (But then, I
am a bit biased.)
I started the set off with my new guitar: Abadon the Despoiler, from Hellion Arts. Best guitar
I've ever played. Then I broke a string in the middle of the second song and had to switch
back to my trusty old Steinberger. So Abadon's introduction to the world was brief, but mighty.
But don't worry, he'll be back to wreak havoc upon the world.
We played a fine show, I must say. The night was quite well attended and the crowd seemed to
really get into it, so we were happy.
Later, we ate garlic bread and evaded police.
